On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at about 3:45 p.m., police responded to the 3500 block of Manley Drive in reference to a found body. Upon arrival, units found the body of Maurice Young, 51, of Montgomery. Young was pronounced deceased on the scene. Young’s body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy. The circumstances surrounding the homicide are under investigation. No further details have been released at this time.

The Prattville Police Department notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers and advised the suspect involved in a theft and forgery case has been identified.

 

In February, Prattville Police investigators released a photo of an unknown subject wanted for theft of property 2nd degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument. The offense occurred, Wednesday, December 9, 2022, around 3:54 p.m., at Synovus Bank, located at 2005 Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville, Alabama. Investigators say the pictured suspect, described as a white male, entered the business, cashed a fraudulent check, and left the business in an unknown direction of travel.

 

Investigators say an anonymous tipster provided information to CrimeStoppers that was crucial in solving this case. The tip not only identified the suspect but also led to criminal charges.

 

The suspect is not in police custody at this time, however, warrants have been signed.

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, Sylacauga Police received a call regarding shots fired in the area of Drew Court Housing Complex in Sylacauga, Alabama. Upon arrival, units located an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound in the front yard of 189 Sherwood Drive. Medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Coosa Valley Medical Center Emergency Room. A short time later, Lifesaver Helicopter transferred the victim to UAB Emergency Room in Birmingham. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased the following morning, February 6, 2023.
 
The victim was identified as Devadney Sanchez “Pookie” Lauderdale, 34, of Sylacauga.

Inside the vehicle, officers discovered an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. On November 30, 2015, at approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the 2800 block of Oakdale Road in Alpine, AL. Upon arrival of law enforcement, Stephen Ryan King, was found deceased at the scene and his stepfather, John William Lowe Jr., was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center for medical treatment. John William Lowe, Jr. was later pronounced deceased. A witness told investigators that an unknown person walked up and asked Stephen Ryan King and John William Lowe Jr. for directions before hearing gunshots.
 
Investigators notified Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, Thursday, February 2, 2023, of new information regarding the investigation. Investigators say a new witness has come forward and said they observed a person identified as a light-skinned black male in the area of the crime scene prior to the fatal shooting. Investigators are asking for anyone with information that can identify this potential suspect, to please come forward.

This year will mark five years since Latricia McDade, 31, a dedicated mother of four, was fatally shot while heading home to iron her children’s clothes, as the McDade family continues searching for answers without avail.

 

McDade’s family says Latricia was a wonderful and loving mother who worked hard to provide for her four children. Latricia was “the joy of the party” and her friends and family enjoyed spending time with her.

 

The McDade family is searching for answers and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers stands with the McDade family and is asking anyone that has information regarding this senseless death to please come forward.

 

Montgomery Police Department says police and medics responded to the shooting on Friday, September 20, 2018, in the 200 block of Alabama River Parkway around 8:21 p.m. Authorities arrived at the scene and located an adult female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. McDade was transported to Jackson Hospital Emergency Room for treatment. McDade succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased later that night.

In a 2018 Montgomery Advertiser interview, the family said McDade had just left her mother’s and sister’s residence prior to the shooting. McDade was headed home to iron her children’s clothes, prior to the shooting. McDade was in her vehicle when the shooting occurred. The shooting, the family said, was the result of an argument, between at least two unknown people.

The Montgomery Cold Case Task Force has accepted this case and classified it as a cold case in this ongoing investigation. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000.00 cash reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of anyone responsible for this senseless fatal shooting.

Investigators say the pictured suspects, two adults, entered the property and stole multiple debit cards. The suspects left the property in an unknown vehicle and traveled to Montgomery. While in Montgomery, the suspects went to a local business located in the area of 1000 Eastern Boulevard. There the suspects used the stolen debit cards to purchase various gift cards valued at $4,000.00.
 
Investigators say video surveillance shows the first suspect, identified as a white male, was seen wearing a USA hat, black pullover, and black shorts. The second suspect, a identified as a white female, is seen wearing a tan cap, pink sweatshirt, and blue jeans. There is no other information available for release at this time.

On Friday, December 27, 2022, police responded to KFC, located at 3006 20th Avenue, in reference to a business robbery. Upon arrival, contact was made with an employee of the business who advised while employees were exiting the business to leave, two unknown suspects forced the employees back inside the business, one of the suspects used force by grabbing an employee by the throat, physically pushing the employee back inside the business. Investigators say the suspects appeared to be armed with a weapon during the robbery. The suspects stole property and left the scene in an unknown red automobile toward a nearby neighborhood. At approximately 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22nd, 2022, George County Sheriff’s Deputies in Mississippi responded to a report of an Armed Robbery that occurred at the 4-Mile Truck Stop, in the Rocky Creek community of George County, Mississippi.

 

After further investigation, George County Sheriff’s Office Investigators identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2014 Chrysler Sedan with an Alabama license plate displaying, 4EVAJ. Investigators were also able to obtain video surveillance of the two males at the property during the time of the robbery.

 

This is an ongoing investigation. The George County Sheriff’s Office (601.947.4811) and the Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers program reached out to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers in the hopes of identifying the suspects due to the vehicle license plate being registered in the Alabama River Region.

The Montgomery Police Department is investigating a July homicide and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
 
On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at about 12:16 a.m., police responded to the Atlanta Highway and Perry Hill Road in reference to a subject shot. Upon arrival, units located an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. The victim was identified as, David Werking, 19. There are no other details available for release at this time.

As the holidays approach, the victim’s family will spend their first Christmas without their beloved family member. Werking’s family is seeking answers and is asking anyone with information to please come forward.

Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of a truck and trailer that was used to commit a theft of copper wire, valued at over $5,000.00. Investigators say possibly four suspects committed the theft and left in the pictured truck and trailer. The offense occurred, Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at International Paper, located at 100 Jensen Road, Prattville, Alabama.

Investigators say the pictured suspects, described as three black females, entered the business, took assorted clothing, and left the business without paying.
