This year will mark five years since Latricia McDade, 31, a dedicated mother of four, was fatally shot while heading home to iron her children’s clothes, as the McDade family continues searching for answers without avail.

McDade’s family says Latricia was a wonderful and loving mother who worked hard to provide for her four children. Latricia was “the joy of the party” and her friends and family enjoyed spending time with her.

The McDade family is searching for answers and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers stands with the McDade family and is asking anyone that has information regarding this senseless death to please come forward.

Montgomery Police Department says police and medics responded to the shooting on Friday, September 20, 2018, in the 200 block of Alabama River Parkway around 8:21 p.m. Authorities arrived at the scene and located an adult female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. McDade was transported to Jackson Hospital Emergency Room for treatment. McDade succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased later that night.

In a 2018 Montgomery Advertiser interview, the family said McDade had just left her mother’s and sister’s residence prior to the shooting. McDade was headed home to iron her children’s clothes, prior to the shooting. McDade was in her vehicle when the shooting occurred. The shooting, the family said, was the result of an argument, between at least two unknown people.

The Montgomery Cold Case Task Force has accepted this case and classified it as a cold case in this ongoing investigation. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000.00 cash reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of anyone responsible for this senseless fatal shooting.
