On Sunday, May 14, 2023, at about 12:02 a.m., police responded to the 5500 block of Atlanta Highway in reference to shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, units located an adult male who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Jarquis Willis, 28, of Montgomery.

While at a local area hospital, investigators located two adult male victims who each sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and one adult female who sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. All victims were transported by personal vehicles to a local hospital for treatment.

The shooting remains under investigation and no other details are available for release at this time.

Investigators are seeking answers and are asking anyone with information to please come forward and help solve this ongoing homicide investigation.

The Alabama Department of Corrections has officially notified CrimeStoppers of the recapture of escaped inmate Tandion Markeeice Stoudemire.  Stoudemire was wanted for Escape.

 

ADOC said officers with its agency, along with help from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, located Stoudemire around 8 a.m. Friday. He was found in the 3900 block of Woodley Road and taken into custody without incident.

 

Tandion Stoudemire was serving a 23-year prison sentence for Attempted Murder at the Staton Correctional Facility located at 2690 Marion Spillway Road in Elmore, Alabama. On May 25, 2023, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Stoudemire is believed to have escaped.

 

In addition to Stoudemire, law enforcement arrested a second person, identified as Acacia Laraea Stallworth, a civilian now charged with facilitating Stoudemire’s escape. She has since been released on bond.

An investigation into the escape is ongoing. No other information was released.

On April 25, 2023, Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of four unknown subjects wanted for theft of property 2nd degree. On Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Shell, located at 2591 Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville, Alabama. Investigators say the pictured suspects, described as black males, entered the business, walked out, and one suspect quickly returned to the business. The suspect walked behind the checkout counter, took $1,600.00 in cash from the register, and ran out of the store. The suspects were seen entering a 2011, Honda, CRV, and left the scene in an unknown direction of travel.

Investigators say as a result of an anonymous tip provided through CrimeStoppers, two of the suspects have been identified. The male was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victim sustained severe and critical injuries as a result of the shooting.

Investigators say the suspects, an adult male, and an adult female, entered the business at this location, broke the glass on a display case, and took four VR headsets, one gaming headset, and one suitcase. The suspects left with the merchandise without paying and exited the business. The suspects were last seen entering a silver, Dodge, Charger, and leaving in an unknown direction. On March 29, 2023, Sylacauga Police Department personnel responded to a call in the area of S. Main Avenue between E. Clay Street and E. Park Street. On arrival, officers located a black male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim was pronounced dead by the Talladega County Coroner, Shaddix Murphy. The victim was transported to Curtis and Son Funeral Home and then to Alabama Department of Forensic Science, (ADFS), in Montgomery, Alabama.

 

The victim, 26-year-old, Tony Jaquez Keith, of Buford Lane, in Sylacauga, was found lying behind a vacant house near the intersection of S. Main Avenue and E. Park Street. Keith was deceased at the time officers arrived. Keith is the fourth homicide in the City of Sylacauga this year.

 

At this time, there are no suspects in custody. Sylacauga Investigators and members of the Talladega County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force are working diligently to generate a suspect and uncover the motive behind the shooting. SPD is asking for anyone with information, please come forward and speak to our investigators that are working this case.
